Agile Project Management
This program helps project managers, team leads, and sponsors choose the right delivery approach when plans keep changing, with hands-on practice in Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid methods plus the leadership skills to make them stick. You'll apply it all to a project you currently own, leaving with a prioritized backlog and a written delivery approach ready to defend to your sponsor. No software background required.
Description
Business moves faster than the plans built to control it. Requirements shift mid-project, technology changes underfoot, and the detailed schedule approved in January is obsolete by March. Agile methods emerged from teams facing exactly this problem and have since reshaped how work gets delivered well beyond software.
This program is built for project managers and leads, functional managers, and sponsors who own delivery in organizations where the plan keeps changing. No software background required.
You will learn to diagnose the project in front of you and choose a delivery approach you can defend to the person funding it. That starts with the distinction between predictive, plan-based work and adaptive, change-based work, and what that choice costs teams, sponsors, and the wider organization.
From there, you work directly with Scrum and Kanban and the practices that carry them: backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and retrospectives. The program closes on the harder part: the cultural and leadership shifts these methods demand, from servant leadership to genuinely self-organizing teams, and what happens when adaptive work must survive inside an annual budget cycle.
- Methods You Can Apply Immediately: Working command of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid approaches, along with the judgment to know which one fits the project in front of you.
- Learn by Doing: The program runs as a sprint. Come with a project you currently own. You will plan it, prioritize it, deliver against it, and retro it throughout the program.
- The Leadership Half of the Work: Practical moves for coaching a team toward self-organization and for protecting adaptive work from the reporting structures around it.
- A Defensible Recommendation: Leave with a prioritized backlog and a written delivery approach for your own project, ready to take to a sponsor.
